Documentation: io 0.0.1 beta++, the musical automaton and machine improviser constructed by Han-earl Park

Back, behind-the-scenes, I still have some articles in draft form that both detail the nuts’n’bolts decision-making processes in the construction of a machine improviser, and self-reflective critique such constructions, detailing the trade-offs and shortcomings of such an entity, and its design and implementation. I would like to get back to work on these at some […]

site update: web audio player

I’ve updated the audio player used on this site, and I’m gradually migrating this site’s pages over to the new widget. You can find additional audio recordings (with new widget) on a couple of other pages. I’d be grateful if you could give these a play, and let me know if you have any problems, […]

site update: farewell music.calarts.edu/~hpark

As I’ve stated in more detail elsewhere, music.calarts.edu/~hpark, the original home of io 0.0.1 beta, has shut down. That shouldn’t affect the majority of visitors to this site, but some of the older media files stored on music.calarts.edu (linked via the archived io 0.0.1 beta site) have now been migrated to io001b.com.

site redesign 02-27-12

I’ve made some changes www.io001b.com. The previous design dates back to March 2010 (one that was launched in anticipation to the performance at Blackrock Castle Observatory), and was the basis of the recent update to busterandfriends.com. The new design incorporates some of the changes made for busterandfriends.com, reusing much of the same code, adds a new […]

io 0.0.1 beta++ now has its own domain: www.io001b.com …and the old io 0.0.1 beta site is now archived at archive.io001b.com. More updates coming soon (expect reports on the hardware (re)construction and the upcoming performance at Blackrock Castle Observatory).

site update

Been a little while since I last posted. Been busy with, among other things, io related business which I have unfortunately neglected to document here. (Some catchup will be necessary to bring this constructor’s diary up to date.) Anyway, shouldn’t happen again. I have also learned a lot more about WordPress (with both Stet Lab […]

site launch

After the usual delays, Arts Council support in hand, here’s the launch of the io 0.0.1 beta++ site! (I expect the usual teething problems…)
